In this session, we'll build a complete agentive application in pure Dart: a Serverpod backend that orchestrates Gemini calls and returns structured widget instructions, consumed by a Flutter frontend that composes its own interface at runtime no hardcoded screens, no navigation stack, just user intent driving the UI. The demo is powered by genui_catalog, an open-source Flutter package I authored and published on pub.dev, shipping 17 production-ready GenUI components, KpiCard, ActionForm, StepperCard, TimelineCard, ChartCard and more. Each with their JSON schema, event bindings, dark/light mode support, and screen-reader semantics pre-wired. The Serverpod backend generates the widget instructions; genui_catalog handles the rendering instantly, with zero boilerplate. Every attendee can reproduce the full demo with a single flutter pub add genui_catalog.
The use case is a healthcare triage assistant inspired by Lebenam, a real Flutter health platform built for clinics in West Africa — where the right interface at the right moment genuinely changes patient outcomes. We'll cover the full Serverpod architecture (YAML model definition, code generation, typed ORM, auto-generated Flutter client), wire it to the genui_catalog SurfaceController pipeline, and deploy the entire stack on a self-hosted VPS using Docker and Traefik no vendor lock-in, full control.
